The Springfield chapter of the Association for Women Journalists was formed in 1997 and is one of seven AWJ chapters in the country. It is a national, non-profit organization of print and broadcast journalists, freelance journalists, educators, students and others. The association is dedicated to helping both women and men further their education and careers by providing networking opportunities and programs on current topics related to journalism.
Annual membership is $15, though no dues are being collected for 2005. To become a member of AWJ, e-mail your name, title, place of employment (or indicate freelancer), phone number and e-mail address to membership@awjspringfield.org.
